2019 Winter Holiday Letter

Winter Holidays 2019

Season’s Greetings from The Kitty Pants Ranch!

We hope the past twelve months have been fruitful for you and those you love. Things at the Kitty Pants Ranch are coming along. Brody has earned his place at the table protecting the chickens and chasing away coyotes. Oh my! The chickens! Big-Momma, Poop-Foot, Doll-Face, Tootie, and Snootie have grown up and are providing us with much affection and delicious eggs everyday. We lost Sweet Cheeks this past Spring but Sassylass has adapted well to being the Senior Kitty on the Ranch. Omar is still enjoying his work at Google and I’m still deeply engaged in my Art. Omar’s Mom, Sheila, is settled for the time being. If you would like to correspond with her you can send letters or cards care of The Kitty Pants Ranch.

What is The Kitty Pants Ranch? First and foremost it is our home and my studio, but it is more than that. We purchased the bundle of parcels totaling twelve and a half acres in an active effort of historical and environmental conservation and preservation. Our goals are: to maintain the architecturally historical home, co-habitate with the Second-growth Redwood Forest in as natural a way as possible, rehabilitate habitat where necessary, protect the watershed and wildlife, and foster a creative space for the installation and exhibition of Art work for generations to come. The California Coast Line is under great pressure and in much danger. The very special ecosystems and habitats under threat effect the greater health of environment(s) of the entire Country. Twelve and a half acres of Coastal Redwoods is a serious responsibility of protection and care that we have accepted with reverence…AND, we are at the point where we need and are ready to accommodate Ranch Hands.

The Kitty Pants Ranch is seeking up to two live/work exchange Ranch Hands. There is a free-standing cabin separate from the main house with two bunks, bathroom and efficiency. The ideal candidate(s) will love nature and be: 18 years of age or older, looking for a serious change in scenery and opportunity to save a chunk of money, able to work in the United States legally and be fluent in English, able to dig a hole and fill it up and have fix-it skills, trustworthy, and passionate about Art and care of the planet. If this is you or someone you know, contact me for more information.

I believe the most effective thing any of us can do as a species for the purpose of self-preservation and future generations is to accept active responsibility for the care of the planet; in particular its most delicate and threatened habitats, and engage the public in meaningful dialogue about what this means through Artistic expression and Education. No matter what holiday you celebrate, God’s Gift to the World is the promise of Light. As a human and Artist my gift to You is my effort to ensure that Light continues to shine.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

As I always am,
